Adamawa State Police Urges Vehicle Owners to Prioritize Safety with e-CMR Registration

In a proactive move to enhance vehicle security and curb the rising cases of vehicle theft, the Adamawa State Police Command has launched a robust campaign urging all vehicle owners to register with the Electronic Central Motor Registry (e-CMR) system. This system, designed to safeguard vehicle ownership and prevent the illegal sale of stolen vehicles, is being positioned as a critical tool for ensuring the safety and security of vehicles across the state.

In a public statement shared on the Command’s official social media handle, the Commissioner of Police emphasized the importance of this initiative, noting that the e-CMR system will allow the police to validate the authenticity of vehicles, ensure proper ownership documentation, and facilitate the swift recovery of stolen vehicles, even if they are taken far beyond state borders.

“Our goal is to make Adamawa an unsafe haven for criminals, particularly those involved in vehicle theft. With the e-CMR system, tracking and recovering stolen vehicles will be quicker and more efficient,” said the Command in the press release.

Vehicle owners are strongly advised to take immediate action by registering their vehicles on the official e-CMR platform. The process can be completed online through the link: https://cmris.npf.gov.ng, where a digitalized CMR certificate will be issued to registered users.

This initiative, according to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, is a crucial step towards creating a safer environment for all road users in Adamawa State. “We urge all vehicle owners to embrace this security measure, ensuring their vehicles are registered and protected,” he added.

By adhering to this directive, vehicle owners not only safeguard their assets but also contribute to the overall security of the state.
