The Adamawa State Police Command has issued a firm warning against lawbreakers during the “Ember months” as part of heightened security measures aimed at safeguarding the peace and safety of citizens. In a press release dated October 7th, 2024, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, PSC (+), outlined a robust plan to ensure the protection of lives and property across the state.
CP Dankombo Morris has deployed a formidable array of operatives from the Special Rapid Response Team (SRRT), Crack Squad, Anti-Shilla, and Narcotics Units to launch a 24/7 tactical and intelligence-driven raid targeting violent crimes. This decisive action is designed to swiftly neutralize any potential threats to the peace currently enjoyed by the residents of Adamawa State, particularly during the notorious Ember period—a time often associated with heightened criminal activity.
The deployment of these elite units reflects the Command’s unwavering determination to maintain a peaceful and conducive atmosphere throughout the state. By employing intelligence-based strategies and relentless raids, the police aim to dismantle criminal operations, ensure public safety, and respond promptly to distress calls.
In a bold directive, the Commissioner has instructed all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), the Commander of the 14/65 Police Mobile Force (PMF), and Area Commanders to personally lead these operations within their respective Areas of Responsibility (AOR). This proactive approach seeks to ensure the total domination of public spaces, especially during nighttime hours when criminal activity often intensifies.
The CP emphasized that public cooperation remains vital in the fight against crime. He urged residents, particularly those in rural areas, to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods. Information provided by the public can play a crucial role in supporting police operations and ensuring timely interventions. Citizens are encouraged to contact the police using the following emergency numbers:
08089671313
08130013347
08030693476
As the Ember months continue, the Adamawa State Police Command is sending a clear message: there will be no tolerance for troublemakers or those seeking to undermine the law. With an aggressive crackdown now in place and a dedicated police force ready to respond, residents can rest assured that their safety is the Command’s top priority.
