President Tinubu Pledges Swift Relief and Solidarity for Borno State Flood Victims

In a heartfelt message shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed deep sympathy and unwavering support for the people of Borno State, who have been affected by the devastating floods that have claimed lives and destroyed homes. During his visit to the state, the President assured the victims of the government’s firm commitment to providing both immediate relief and long-term recovery efforts.

“Today, as I visited Borno State, my heart went out to all those affected by the recent floods,” President Tinubu stated. “I extended my deepest sympathies to those who have lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods in this catastrophe. To the displaced persons, I admire your strength, courage, and determination amid such hardship. Rest assured, your government is committed to alleviating your suffering.”

The President underscored the administration’s determination to provide swift and sustained relief, emphasizing that immediate steps have been taken to establish a Disaster Relief Fund, seeded by the Federal Government. “We have announced the establishment of a Disaster Relief Fund with an initial capital from the Federal Government to aid in alleviating the impact of this catastrophe,” Tinubu declared, urging the private sector and international partners to collaborate and contribute towards this critical cause.

In a show of gratitude, Tinubu commended the leadership of the state, singling out the Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, for his steadfast leadership.
