FRSC Cracks Down in Operation Karara: 823 Traffic Offenders Arrested, 189 Vehicles Impounded in FCT

In a bold move to curb rising traffic violations, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has intensified efforts through Operation Karara, a high-profile operation targeting errant drivers within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The FRSC made a public announcement via their official X (formerly Twitter) account, revealing impressive results in the ongoing enforcement action.

As of the latest update, the FRSC has arrested 823 traffic light violators, demonstrating a firm stance against lawbreakers who endanger public safety. The operation also recorded a staggering 923 traffic offences during this period, showcasing the agency’s commitment to maintaining road order and ensuring adherence to traffic regulations.

Further reflecting the no-nonsense approach of Operation Karara, a total of 189 vehicles were impounded as a consequence of these offences. Additionally, the FRSC confiscated 634 drivers’ licences, sending a clear message that reckless driving and non-compliance will not be tolerated in the FCT.

The Federal Road Safety Corps has consistently prioritized the safety and security of all road users, and this operation is part of their broader strategy to ensure discipline on Nigerian roads. According to FRSC officials, the initiative aims to reduce the spate of traffic violations, improve road discipline, and ultimately decrease road accidents across the country.

Operation Karara serves as a reminder to all motorists that traffic rules are non-negotiable, and violations come with strict penalties, including vehicle impoundment and licence confiscation. The FRSC urges road users to adhere to traffic laws and cooperate with officials to create safer roads for all.

With more enforcement actions expected, the FRSC remains steadfast in its mission to protect lives and properties on Nigeria’s highways, ensuring that reckless drivers face the full force of the law.
