In preparation for the highly anticipated 2024 off-cycle governorship election in Edo State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, alongside his team, participated in the Edo State Peace Accord ceremony. The announcement was made via INEC Nigeria’s official X handle.
The ceremony, which drew significant attention, was organized under the esteemed leadership of the National Peace Committee, headed by former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (retired). The event underscored the importance of peace, stability, and adherence to democratic principles as political parties and their gubernatorial candidates prepare for the upcoming election.
