“Atiku Abubakar Mourns Late Monarch, Oba Gabriel Aromolaran, Describes Him as a Father Figure”

Former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Wazirin Adamawa, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Owa Obokun of Ijeshaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, a revered monarch and esteemed father-in-law to him.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Atiku Abubakar penned an emotional tribute, reflecting on the late king’s profound impact on his life and the people of Ijeshaland.

“With a heavy heart, I received the news of the passing of the Owa Obokun of Ijeshaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran,” he began. “The late Owa was more than just a father-in-law to me; each time I visited him, he welcomed me with the warmth and affection of a son coming home.”

Atiku fondly reminisced about the deep bond he shared with the monarch, who, beyond his royal responsibilities, embodied the values of boldness, courage, and unwavering discipline. “We all loved him dearly. He was a great monarch who personified the boldness, courage, and discipline of the Ijesha progeny,” Atiku wrote.

The former vice president extended his heartfelt condolences to the Owa-in-Council, the royal family, and the entire Ijesha community, noting that Oba Aromolaran’s passing leaves an indelible void in their hearts.

“On behalf of my wife, Titi, and our entire family, I extend my deepest condolences to the Owa-in-Council, the royal family, and all the indigenes and residents of Ijeshaland,” he continued. “His leadership was not just traditional but deeply human, and he will be sorely missed.”

Atiku concluded his tribute with a solemn prayer for the late monarch: “As Oba Aromolaran turns his face to his Maker, I pray that his soul finds gentle repose in the arms of the Almighty. Amen.”

The passing of Oba Aromolaran marks the end of an era for Ijeshaland, but his legacy of strength, wisdom, and unity will undoubtedly live on through the generations he inspired.
