According to Makama, the incident occurred on August 28, 2024, at approximately 10:15 AM, when vigilant troops from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Dan Marke were on routine checkpoint duty. The troops intercepted a vehicle suspected of being involved in terrorist logistics, which was heading from the Sokoto axis. The vehicle’s evasive behavior immediately raised red flags, prompting the troops to take decisive action.
Upon inspection, the vehicle was found to be driven by a Divisional Police Officer (DPO), whose identity has yet to be disclosed.
