Troops Neutralize Eight Bandits in Fierce Birnin Gwari Encounter – Governor Uba Sani Commends Gallant Soldiers

Renowned security analyst and counterinsurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, has revealed through his official X handle that Nigerian troops successfully neutralized eight bandits during a high-stakes fighting patrol in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

According to reports, the troops launched their operation in the Kampanin Doka general area, where they encountered a heavily armed group of bandits. Without hesitation, the soldiers engaged the criminals in a fierce gunfight, resulting in the neutralization of seven bandits on the spot.

Following the intense battle, a meticulous search of the area led to the recovery of a significant cache of items, including:

Three AK-47 rifles,Eight AK-47 magazines (four empty and four loaded with 120 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition),One magazine carrier,Six motorcycles,Three mobile phones,Two Baofeng radio sets,Three pairs of civilian clothes.

The operation didn’t end there. As the troops advanced to the Gayam general area, they made further contact with another group of bandits. In this second confrontation, one more bandit was neutralized, while others were believed to have fled with gunshot wounds.

Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, expressed his gratitude to the security forces for their unwavering commitment and swift action in the face of danger. He specifically commended the troops, operating under the command of Major General MLD Saraso, General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army/Commander of Operation Whirl Punch (OPWP), for their valiant efforts in securing the region and dealing a decisive blow to the criminal elements terrorizing the state.
