MNJTF Troops Deal Major Blow to Boko Haram Supply Network in Cross Kauwa Market Operation

In a significant victory against terrorism in the Lake Chad region, the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) troops deployed in Sector 3, Monguno, have successfully intercepted a critical Boko Haram/ISWAP logistics supply operation. The operation, conducted in conjunction with intelligence operatives and the Civilian Joint Task Force, led to the capture of a key terrorist supply syndicate at Cross Kauwa Market in Monguno, Borno State.

Renowned security analyst and counterinsurgency expert Zagazola Makama shared the details of the successful mission on his official social media channel, X. The intercepted syndicate, comprising Modu Gana, Mamman Saleh, and Babagana Muktar, was apprehended while en route to deliver essential supplies to Boko Haram/ISWAP militants entrenched in their remote enclaves.

During the operation, the MNJTF troops uncovered a trove of supplies intended to sustain the terrorist group. Among the seized items were a Techno mobile phone, six goats, a carton of Maggi seasoning cubes, a variety of charms, bags of Guinea corn and millet, ground corn, metal bowls, a calculator, a wristwatch, perfume, prayer beads, 36 empty sack bags, and various other critical supplies that would have bolstered the terrorists’ operational capabilities.

The successful interception of this logistics syndicate marks a significant disruption in the supply chain of Boko Haram/ISWAP, effectively crippling their ability to sustain operations in the region. The captured individuals, who have confessed to being vital logistics providers for the terrorist group, are now undergoing intense interrogation. The intelligence gathered from these interrogations is expected to lead to further arrests and the dismantling of additional elements of the terrorist logistics network in the Lake Chad Basin.

This operation underscores the unwavering commitment of the MNJTF and its partners to combat terrorism and ensure the safety and security of the region’s inhabitants. By severing the lifeline of these extremist groups, the MNJTF has dealt a substantial blow to their operational effectiveness, bringing hope to the people of Borno State and the wider region that the tide is turning in the fight against insurgency.

The swift and coordinated efforts of the MNJTF troops, intelligence operatives, and the Civilian Joint Task Force continue to demonstrate the power of collaboration in the ongoing battle against terrorism, highlighting the critical role of intelligence and community involvement in securing lasting peace in the region.
