In a significant victory against terrorism, the troops of Operation Hadin Kai have neutralized Abu Rajab, a notorious Boko Haram commander, along with three other insurgents, in a high-stakes operation in the notorious Sambisa Forest, Borno State. This operation underscores the ongoing commitment of the Nigerian military to eradicate the insurgency that has plagued the region for years.

Zagazola Makama, a renowned security analyst and counterinsurgency expert, broke the news on his official X platform, shedding light on the daring raid that took place on August 17, 2024. According to Makama, the operation was a coordinated effort between the Nigerian military, the Hybrid Force, and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), targeting a Boko Haram stronghold in the Bula Daloje area of Bama Local Government Area.

Intelligence sources informed Makama that as the troops advanced towards the terrorists’ enclave, they encountered a well-planned ambush by the insurgents, leading to an intense firefight. Despite the initial surprise, the troops quickly regained the upper hand, repelling the attack and decisively taking out the terrorists. Among the dead was Abu Rajab, a figure notorious for orchestrating numerous attacks in the region.
In addition to the successful neutralization of the insurgents, the troops recovered two AK-47 rifles and a mobile phone from the scene, further disrupting the operational capabilities of the Boko Haram faction.

However, the operation was not without its sacrifices. One member of the Hybrid Force sustained severe gunshot wounds during the battle and tragically succumbed to his injuries later. His bravery and dedication serve as a solemn reminder of the ongoing sacrifices made by those on the frontlines of this conflict.
This latest success adds to the growing list of victories by Operation Hadin Kai, as the Nigerian military continues to dismantle Boko Haram’s strongholds and restore peace to the region.
