In a decisive victory against terrorism, the Nigerian Army, under Operation Forest Sanity, successfully defended Saulawa community in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, delivering a crushing blow to the terrorists. Renowned security analyst and counterinsurgency expert Zagazola Makama broke the news on his official social media X Channel, highlighting the Army’s relentless efforts to secure the region.

On Friday, August 16, 2024, troops conducting a fighting patrol through the Saulawa general area engaged in a fierce battle with terrorists attempting to terrorize the local population. Before reaching Saulawa, the troops cleared Maidaro and Ngade Alha villages, disrupting the terrorists’ operations and denying them any safe havens.

The intense firefight culminated in the elimination of two terrorists, effectively neutralizing the immediate threat. The troops also recovered a significant haul of arms and equipment from the militants, including one AK-47 rifle, a magazine loaded with 23 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and 11 motorcycles—one of which was burned beyond use during the skirmish.
This latest operation underscores the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism in the region. Their persistent efforts have not only denied the terrorists freedom of movement but also significantly weakened their operational capabilities, bringing a renewed sense of security to the people of Kaduna State.
The victory at Saulawa serves as a testament to the Army’s resolve and tactical superiority in the ongoing fight against insurgency, further demonstrating that no corner of the country will be left vulnerable to the scourge of terrorism.
The Nigerian Army remains vigilant, prepared to confront any threats to peace and stability, as they continue their mission to safeguard the nation.
