Ember Months Preparedness: Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed Rallies FRSC Personnel to Prioritize Health and Wellness for Optimal Performance

In anticipation of the heightened human and vehicular movement during the upcoming Ember months, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has taken decisive action to ensure its personnel are fully prepared for the challenges ahead. Through its official social media platform, X, the FRSC announced that Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed has called on all personnel to prioritize their health and wellness as a critical factor for enhanced performance in the line of duty.

During the nationwide August 2024 walk and jog exercise, the Corps Marshal emphasized the indispensable role that health and wellness play in the productivity and overall quality of life of FRSC staff. He revealed the launch of a comprehensive health and wellness initiative aimed at empowering personnel to meet the demands of their roles with peak efficiency.

“The well-being of our staff is paramount,” Corps Marshal Mohammed stated. “As we gear up for the Ember months, which traditionally see a spike in road usage and traffic infractions, it’s crucial that our personnel are in top physical and mental condition. This initiative underscores our commitment not only to the safety of Nigerian road users but also to the welfare of our staff who work tirelessly to maintain order on our highways.”

He urged FRSC personnel to adopt and maintain healthy lifestyle habits, including regular exercise, balanced nutrition, effective stress management, and sufficient rest. “Our staff are our greatest asset, and by investing in their health and wellness, we are investing in the success of our mission. Prioritizing these aspects will not only improve productivity but also reduce absenteeism and enhance overall job satisfaction, leading to better service delivery,” the Corps Marshal added.

This initiative reflects the Corps’ broader commitment to fostering a culture of health and wellness among its ranks, recognizing that a fit and healthy workforce is better equipped to handle the rigors of maintaining road safety during the demanding Ember months.
