President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, has extolled the valour and bravery of the nation’s military personnel. His remarks came during the graduation ceremony of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) Jaji Senior Course 46, held on July 27, 2024.

Represented by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, President Tinubu lauded the college’s unwavering commitment to the professional development of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN). He emphasized that this dedication is crucial for the security and stability of Nigeria, the West African sub-region, and beyond.

“The AFCSC is not just a training ground but a forge for future leaders, offering invaluable networking opportunities for operational collaboration,” the President stated. He also highlighted the importance of the bonds and lessons shared among the graduates, urging the foreign participants to maintain these connections and support one another in their collective quest for unity and cooperation.

President Tinubu underscored the complex nature of contemporary security challenges, noting that they are predominantly asymmetric and transborder, involving mainly non-state actors. He stressed that the rigorous training provided at AFCSC equips participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to counter such threats effectively.

The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the graduates, who are now better prepared to tackle the multifaceted security issues facing their respective countries. President Tinubu reaffirmed the government’s steadfast support for the Armed Forces and the continued development of the AFCSC, ensuring that Nigeria remains resilient in the face of evolving security threats.
