In a brazen attack, Boko Haram terrorists targeted the Police Divisional Station in Jakana, Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State. Renowned security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, reported the incident on his official social media X channel.
The assault, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday, resulted in the tragic deaths of a policeman and his wife. The terrorists, arriving in significant numbers, engaged the stationed police officers in a fierce gun battle. Despite the officers’ efforts, the insurgents eventually overpowered them.
Sources disclosed to Zagazola Makama that the terrorists set ablaze two patrol vehicles belonging to the police and the Civilian Joint Task Force. Additionally, the attackers made off with a motorcycle, further highlighting the severity of the assault.
This latest attack underscores the ongoing security challenges in Borno State and the persistent threat posed by Boko Haram in the region.
