The governor shared this significant development on his official social media X channel, emphasizing the administration’s unwavering commitment to enhancing healthcare provision in the state.

Governor Yusuf highlighted that the MNCHW is designed to improve healthcare indices through targeted preventive and curative interventions, ensuring mothers and children thrive and develop optimally. The week-long event is a pivotal opportunity to deliver essential health services to mothers, newborns, and children, utilizing the existing health infrastructure. This initiative reinforces the free maternal and child health services available at primary health centers and secondary hospitals across Kano State.

“The Kano State Government remains steadfast in implementing health programs aimed at improving the lives of its citizens,” Governor Yusuf stated. “This includes a strong commitment to nutrition promotion programs, polio eradication, and enhancements in routine immunization.”

The administration’s dedication to reducing maternal and child mortality rates and controlling preventable diseases is evident. Efforts are focused on combating vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs), malaria, HIV, and tuberculosis, aligning with global health standards.

Governor Yusuf’s proactive approach underscores the importance of robust healthcare systems in fostering a healthier population. As the MNCHW progresses, it symbolizes a significant stride towards a future where every mother and child in Kano State has access to the best possible healthcare services.
