Yola, Nigeria – July 24, 2024: The Adamawa State Police Command has recently shared on their official social media X channel, the apprehension of one Hussaini Salihu, a 30-year-old resident of Jabbore Hayin Gada, Girei Local Government, on charges of assaulting a 12-year-old girl.
The arrest came after a harrowing report was filed by the victim’s distraught mother, prompting an immediate police investigation. Salihu was subsequently tracked down and taken into custody by the diligent officers of the Adamawa State Police Command. But before the arrest, it was gathered that the suspect lured the victim into his house and had carnal knowledge of her, then gave her N2,000 before escaping.

In a press briefing, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said that The suspect voluntarily made a confessional statement and will be charged in court. He commended the swift action of the police team and assured the public of a thorough investigation. “We will ensure that justice is served. Such heinous acts against innocent children are intolerable and will be met with the full force of the law,” he stated.
