President Tinubu Declares Nigeria’s Economy on Path to Recovery

In a recent social media X  post, President Bola Tinubu affirmed that Nigeria’s economy is on a gradual but steady path to recovery. Addressing the nation’s challenges and his administration’s dedication to overcoming them, he assured citizens that their needs would receive heightened attention.

In a significant meeting with traditional rulers, including the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, and the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, at the State House, President Tinubu expressed his commitment to tackling the country’s issues head-on.

“I asked for this job, and I have no excuse not to perform it with sincerity and honesty,” Tinubu stated. He acknowledged the assets and liabilities inherited from his predecessor and emphasized his focus on advancing Nigeria.

Highlighting the administration’s efforts, he noted the positive impact of recent initiatives such as the student loan program, the consumer credit scheme, and fiscal autonomy for local governments. He also underscored the Ministry of Finance’s role in ensuring funds reach the grassroots for both human and infrastructural development.

The President touched on plans to revitalize the Bank of Agriculture and address infrastructural decay, citing the Lagos-Calabar coastal road project as a potential economic energizer. He proposed using infrastructure projects to develop wind energy and expand irrigation networks, stressing the importance of studying the economic viability of such initiatives.

“We are on the path to recovery,” Tinubu declared, referencing statements from Finance Minister Wale Edun. He acknowledged the challenges posed by protests but emphasized the government’s focus on the welfare of ordinary citizens.

Security, a top priority, is improving, according to Tinubu. He assured that continuous efforts are being made to maintain stability. The President also highlighted initiatives to support students and expand consumer credit to rejuvenate the economy.

Tinubu called on traditional rulers to help communicate the government’s genuine intentions to the populace, reaffirming his commitment to dialogue and transparency in economic reforms.

“The journey to recovery is underway, and with collective effort and support, we can achieve a renewed hope for Nigeria,” he concluded.
