Deji Adeyanju Lauds Senator Ndume’s Bold Critique of Tinubu’s Administration

Prominent activist Deji Adeyanju has commended Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South Senatorial District, for his bold criticisms of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Senator Ndume, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), recently lambasted the Federal Government, accusing President Tinubu of failing to fulfill his campaign promises and alleging that the President is surrounded by individuals preventing him from understanding the country’s true state.

In response, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje called for Senator Ndume’s removal as Senate Chief Whip, reflecting the growing tension within the party.

Adeyanju, in a statement issued over the weekend, praised Senator Ndume’s courage: “In recent times, Senator Ali Ndume has taken the uncharted path of drawing the government’s attention to its failings. Despite being in the same party as the ruling government, Senator Ndume has demonstrated rare courage by siding with the Nigerian people who are increasingly impoverished by harsh government policies.”

He continued, “I commend Senator Ndume for his forthrightness and urge him to continue to stand by his convictions by speaking truth to power. At a time when praise singers dominate the corridors of power, it is commendable to see Senator Ndume stepping up to fight for Nigerians.”

Adeyanju further urged the government and political leaders to recognize the value of honest criticism: “I urge the government of the day and political leaders across the board not to see Senator Ndume as an enemy, but to be wary of praise singers and sycophants who would rather mask the true state of the nation than tell their principals the truth.”

He concluded with a poignant message: “Thank you, Senator Ndume. When the historical account of this period is recalled, posterity will hold firmly that you did not capitulate to partisan fellowship but broke ranks when it was not fanciful to do so.”

This statement from Adeyanju highlights the growing discontent and the need for transparent governance in Nigeria, as voices like Senator Ndume’s strive to hold the administration accountable.
