Adamawa State Local Government Polls was generally conducted under peaceful atmosphere except for pockets of violence that erupted in some parts of the State due to alleged cases of multiple voting, votes buying and electoral manipulation.
The polls also recorded low turnouts of voters at polling stations due to what was described as complete voter aparthy and lack of confidence in the State electoral system to conduct a transparent, credible, free and fair election.
Our correspondent who monitored the conduct of the polls in some parts of the state reports that it took the timely intervention of the Military and other security Agencies to avert bloodshed when the electoral process turn violent at some polling boots over disagreement between polling agents on the manner some party loyalists were aiding rigging and breaching the electoral process.
Pioneer investigations revealed that some of the polling stations where violence erupted due to rigging attempts were Zabarma, Pare and Youths Center Polling stations under Ward II in Numan Local Government of the State.

The escalating violence was said to have attracted the attention and presence of the Deputy Governor of the state, Professor Farauta Kaleptapwa who hails from the region to address the raging crowd to simmer down the escalating violence.
Pioneer further gathered that the Ward was pregnant with violence because the majority of the population was pushing for the Labour Party candidate to win at all costs against the PDP Candidate from the ruling party, a development which invariably gave rise to the strong contest and game of wits to facilitate electoral victory for individual parties.
A Labour Polling Agent at the Zabarma Polling boot, Nehemiah Amidu told our correspondent that the whole electoral conspiracy tailored against the Ward was because it is a strong hold of the Labour Party Candidate, emphasizing that in an attempt to stop multiple voting and open buying of votes, the opposition resorted to violence.
He said that the timely intervention of the Military drafted to the scene saved an ugly situation.
In his own version, the PDP Polling Agent, Khalifa Abdullahi claimed that violence erupted when a voter perceived to be carrying a voter’s card belonging to someone else was assaulted when attempting to cast her vote.
Our Correspondent observed that most Residents were seen attending to their business concerns and pursuing personal engagements during the Polls signifying lack of interest and voter aparthy.
A trader who gave his name as Ahmadu said that he has no time to waste when already, the winner of the election has been decided.
“The most important thing to me now is to toil at the place of business to take care of my family. Nothing good will ever come out of the State Electoral System where the executive decides who should be the local government Boss”, he said.
The Head of Service and Chief Security Officer of Numan Local Government, Mrs Afriba Boti was no where to be found at the peak of the conflicts within the Headquarters despite concerted efforts to reach her by our correspondent for comments.
