Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri (CON) of Adamawa State has congratulated one of the illustrious sons of the region, Yahaya Sahabo Abubakar on his well-deserved elevation to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), representing the North East Zone.
In the same vein, he has also congratulated Mohammed Adamu Dankwara, another illustrious son of Adamawa on his promotion to the rank of Assistant Inspector General.

In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humashi Wonosikou, the Governor noted with admiration the appointments saying, “This prestigious appointment is a testament to your exceptional leadership and dedication to the Nigeria Police Force.
“I am particularly proud of your antecedents and believe in your capacity to turn around the rising insecurity situation”.
The Governor appreciated the Police Service Commission for recognizing and rewarding excellence and expressing hope that their elevation will significantly enhance the fight against crime in Nigeria. He charged them to leverage their wealth of experience to make a meaningful impact, stating that, “make Adamawa proud, and do not compromise your positions due to the expectations placed upon you.”
Governor Fintiri urged the newly promoted officers to utilize their expertise to drive positive changes and make a lasting impact on the nation’s security landscape.
Before his appointment, DIG Abubakar was the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 14, Katsina.
