The chairman of Community Peace and Safety Partnership Girei local government Malam Haruna Maikasuwa has called on the communities in the Girei local government area to be more cautious of some of the Fake Nongovernmental Organizations (NGO) who illegally siphon money from the masses in the name of registration.
The chairman made this disclosure in an exclusive interview with the Scope Reporter in Girei ll ward recently.
However, Malam Haruna Maikasuwa narrated his encounter with one of the NGOs named No Women No Nation that came to Girei and collected two thousand ₦2ooo in the name of registration and Identity Card.
Interacting with one member of the NGO during the exercise revealed that they were an NGO owned by Nigerian First Lady Mrs Remi Tinibu who are out to provide relief materials to the people at Grass Root in other to cushion the present herd ship biten the masses across the country.
Maikasuwa stated that on insisting to talk with the leadership of the NGO in phone conversation denied the issue of collecting the money from the members of the community.
During the conversation quarry, their Members carry the exercise on the reason why they are collecting money from the community members. Stressing that their NGO is voluntary for those who want to join the organization.
The chairman Laments that there were so many NGOs that stormed Girei local government so many times extorting money from the members of the community he named Manara as an NGOS that visited the area and collected money from the people in the name of providing them with Agricultural inputs which up to now no avail.
He blame the increase rate of poverty and the economic herdship in the country and love of Quick money overnight .
He promised that as leaders. Of the community will continue to monitor the activities of the so call NGOS when found anything fishy they will not hesitate to report them to security agencies for appropriate action agains them .
Malam Haruna advised the community to be more vigilant and report any person or group with suspicious moves to security agencies for prompt action.
