Cameroonian Boxer, Francis Ngannou Apologises To Fans After Losing Heavily To Nigeria’s Anthony Joshua

ACameroonian professional boxer, Francis Ngannou has tendered an apology to his fans after losing heavily to his colleague of Nigerian lineage, Anthony Joshua, in Saudi Arabia on Friday night.

The former world heavyweight champion knocked out the Cameroonian fighter in the second round.

Ngannou, a mixed martial artist, entered the bet with high expectations after a successful boxing debut against Tyson Fury last year, but he fell short against his more experienced Nigerian-British opponent.

The 37-year-old was knocked out in the second round after failing to recover sufficiently from Joshua’s first-round knockdown.

A strong right hand by Joshua forced the referee to stop the fight in the second round.

“Sorry guys I let you all down,” Ngannou wrote on his X account.

“Today was a bad day in the office but tomorrow will be another day. Thank you all for the love.”

There has been viral report that Canadian International rapper, Drake lost a massive $615,000 bet after Anthony Joshua knocked out Francis Ngannou in their much-hyped heavyweight showdown in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The superstar recording artiste, known for placing massive bets on sporting events, posted earlier on Instagram that he was betting $615,000 on Ngannou to beat Joshua outright.

“Betting on a scary man,” Drake said

Although Drake has had some significant betting wins and losses, he has acquired reputation for the “Drake Curse,” in which supporters accuse him of ‘cursing’ sportsmen and teams after being seen with them.
