Police Foil Kidnap Attempt recovers AK-47 rifle in Adamawa.                         Our Correspondent

The Police Command in Adamawa State said its operatives have foiled a kidnapping attempt, and recovered an AK-47 rifle from the suspected kidnappers in Ganye local government area.
The command’s Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje confirmed the development in a statement to our correspondent on Thursday.
According to him, the incident occurred in the evening hours of the 5th March 2024 in Ganye local government, when the bandits in an attempt to kidnap their targeted victim, requested the sum of five hundred thousand naira from him.
The daunting situation drew the attention of the police in the local government and responded swiftly to the distress call to action. That resulted in a fierce gun duel with the bandits who succumbed to the operative’s superior tactics and retreated into the nearby bush with many having bullet wounds.
Subsequently, the operatives combed and recovered from the scene an AK-47 rifle.
Nguroje said that order had since been restored in the said area as the patrol was being intensified.
He urged the public in that axis to be on the lookout for any suspicious character nursing gunshot injury or having any questionable character and report same to the nearest Police outfit.
He again asked the public to always provide the police with useful information to make their environment safe.
