Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has assured the Adamawa population of their safety in spite of the bloody and fierce encounter between the Military and the Police Security Forces which seems to threaten public peace and security in the state.

Addressing Newsmen shortly after an emergency security meeting held at Government House over the security threat posed by the military, Police clashes in the state, the governor said the two Security Chiefs of the security Operatives in conflict have both resolved to end the violent encounter for the interest of the state and the civil society caught in the web of the disturbances which left a police officer and a military officer dead.
Governor Fintiri told Journalists that investigation into the matter has since commenced with a view to ensuring peace and justice.
According to him, “the meeting has resolved the conflict and that the security chiefs have vowed to work in synergy for the best interest of Adamawa and Nigeria”.
Fintiri confirmed that both the military and police had recorded one casualty each during the night clash and called for restraint to avert future reoccurrence of such unfortunate incident.

The meeting had in attendance the Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, the Brigade commander 23 Armoured Brigade, Yola and Adamawa State Commissioner of Police and other senior government officials.
