No fewer than 300 women from Ganye Local Government of Adamawa State benefited from the Federal Government Economic empowerment initiative which is targeted at women in the country. The initiative is aimed at supporting women to ensure better economic opportunities for them to be self-reliant and also addressing gender inequality.


The women in Ganye are lucky to be enrolled among the beneficiaries across the country due to the influence of Alh. Sadiq Mohammed (Walin Ganye) whose commitment to the development of his people is always sacrosanct.


Walin Ganye unwavering commitment to embrace both Christians and Muslims cum his benevolence posture, had thrown even his daring critics off guard and created the desired public sympathy for his patriotism.
The two-day federal government women empowerment program training which brought together women across the ten wards of Ganye local government area, was held in Walin Ganye resident. The women were equipped with vocational skills in many occupational trades which included soap making, tailoring, pomade, cake, weaving of cardigans, fashion design, etc.


The committee chairman Chief, Barr. Yusuf Jangwe commended the federal government for the initiative which he said will go a long way in improving the lives of women.
“Let me thank Walin Ganye for making sure that the women in Ganye have equally benefited from the federal government women empowerment program, it will in no small measure mitigate the sufferings of our jobless women,” Barr Jangwe said. Jangwe further aver that the two days of training was to boost the morale of the women on how to improve their businesses and live peacefully with one another.”
The 300 women who participated in the empowerment program training were later discharged from the training premises with ten thousand naira (#10,000) each while waiting for their materials which will be given to them based on their field of training.


The end of the training ceremony had in attendance opinion leaders, political office holders, and traditional rulers who all applauded the gesture which will go a long way in alleviating poverty, particularly among the women folks within the local government area.
