Nigeria’s recent dwindling economic fortunes which plunged the country into pervasive hardship and massive suffering of the less privileged across the country due to the removal of fuel subsidies and increasing inflation has called for the urgent need from the patriotic and well-meaning Nigerians, those who are well-to-do to dole out from their Rhombus and Bins to help ameliorate the plight of the masses.
The squalid and brutish situation in the country is becoming unbearable for most citizens as the rising costs of living have become the order of the day.
Deeply concerned about the current hardships in the Country, Hon. Mohammed Inuwa Bassi, a member representing Ganye, Jada, Toungo, and Mayo-Belwa federal constituencies in Adamawa State decided to take succor to his Constituency to cushion the effects of the subsidy removal.
It is a known fact that, the Generous Bassi has indeed continued to do what he knows best; rendering service to humanity without let or hindrance as he was hitherto doing before he emerged as the Honorable member federal House of Representatives in the recent 2023 general election.
The food items distributed by Hon. Mohammed Inuwa Bassi to his constituents which complement the government’s palliative initiatives, have brought remarkable respite in many households.
Hon. Member who sympathized with the people of his Constituency and the State at large on the difficult economic situation in the Country reaffirmed his determination to always offer to help hands to people, especially in their time of need.
Hon. Bassi pointed out that the government alone cannot address the challenges caused by the oil subsidy removal, hence the need for all well-meaning Nigerians with the financial muscle to also support in any way possible as the people were in dire need of help.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to our correspondent thanked the Honorable member for his timely intervention and implored him to continue with the good work he started.
In his remarks, the coordinator of the lawmaker on the food items distribution Committee, Hon.Farouk Mohamed(Buldozer) who happens to be the former Ganye local government executive chairman and the senior special adviser(SSA) to the fresh air governor, His Excellency Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, commended the lawmaker for the kind gesture which he said comes at the right time when such gestures are urgently needed.
He said that the food items distributed by Hon. Bassi further proved the fact that the people of Ganye, Jada, Toungo, and Mayo-Belwa federal constituency have made the right choice by voting for PDP candidates during the 2023 general election.
Also in a brief session with our correspondent, Hon. Bassi campaign DG during the 2023 general election, Barr Mahmud Gurum Pawo said that the lawmaker had made them proud because he was concerned for the plight of his people.
He urged other government officials from the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and other political parties in the federal constituency and the State, to learn from the lawmaker by extending helping hands to their people as the economy bites harder all over the Country.
Apart from the food items distributed to his federal constituency people, the pioneer has further learned that the Honorable member has donated blankets and dozens of mats to the Ganye local government correctional service inmates.
The kind-hearted and loving member believes that the prisoners are also human beings who need to be treated with respect and dignity, they deserve a good life, despite being incarcerated for a particular crime committed should not be discriminated against.
The food items distributed include bags of rice, cartons of macaroni and spaghetti as well as vegetable oil, etc.
