His humanitarian influence cuts across National and international boundaries because of his appreciable role in humanity and National development.
His occupation of the office of the President of the Justice Peace and Reconciliation Movement (JPRM) Board of Trustee, the General Secretary of the Association of Christian Lay Centres in Africa (ACLCA), and his emergence on several occasions on the political scene as the chairman of Ganye local government provided a suitable platform for recognition precipitated by genuine service and sacrifices.
Rev. Dr. Habila M. Istifanus who combines religious services and politics has made a significant leap in the realm of politics owing to his perceived sincerity, honesty, and distinctive approach to leadership.
He also occupies a strategic place in the Peoples Democratic Party among his people. His unquestionable and enduring loyalty to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has attracted commendations from some party Loyalists in Ganye Local Government.
A political support Group operating under the canopy of the ruling political party in the State could not withstand the temptation to voice out their unwavering support for the venerable politician. The leader of the group who chose to speak on the condition of anonymity to the Pioneer, described as unfortunate the hidden forces operating behind the scene to negatively influence any attempt in the past to reward the promising politician.
They are worried that the likes of Habila who have made huge commitments and made immeasurable sacrifices for the growth and progress of the party have not received commensurate rewards and recognition as a mark of honor to encourage them to do more.
The group commended Rev. Habila for his display of outstanding selfless contributions and sacrifice at the just concluded 2023 Adamawa State gubernatorial elections which led to the victory of PDP in the State. According to the leader of the group, PDP in Ganye could have gone into extinction and long forgotten if it were not for Party Loyalists like Rev Habila.
“Habila is an epitome of hard work and unifying force that has kept the party together and placed it on the petals of victory and accommodative politics.
“He is simply a strong pillar and courageous commander who uses his resources to ensure the party’s progress at all times.
‘’Habila’s loyalty to the party is proven beyond all reasonable doubt after refusing to be part of the anti-party ban-wagon in the just concluded State Assembly and Governorship elections in Ganye LGA where the ones entrusted with the Party resources betrayed the Governor,’’ the leader stressed.
The group called on PDP led administration in the State to take advantage of the capacities of the likes of Habila who have exhibited so much competence and ability to handle the dynamics of politics and given politics a new meaning by providing good governance as the Chief Executive of Ganye Local Government during his heyday.
The group recalled Rev. Habila’s achievements in all aspect while serving as the LG Boss, emphasizing that his initiatives in job creation and the use of NGOs to equip and increase the capacity of youths for self-reliance has been commendable and profitable
