The Adamawa State Government has requested the Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Police to initiate a full blown investigation into the 2023 electoral crisis that threatened the peace and corporate existence of the State following the illegal declaration of the Gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Aishatu Binani as the winner of the elections by INEC.
The State Government in a letter written to the State Police Command signed by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Hon. Afraimu Jingi has insisted on the prosecution of the culprits behind the electoral fraud and rape on the nation’s nascent Democracy.
The State Government pledged its support and cooperation to the state police command towards ensuring the logical conclusion of the investigation and restoring sanity in the nation’s electoral process.
Fintiri’s government is apparently worried that the action of the suspended Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Alhaji Yunusa Hudu Ari had not only threatened the hard earned peace that the present administration has built in the last four years but has placed the nation’s democratic process in serious jeopardy.
It could be recalled that collation was still ongoing when the then State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Yunusa Hudu Ari declared the APC candidate winner resulting to confusion, chaos and the apparent breach of the peace in the state.
