DSS Apprehends Adamawa REC Over Illegal declaration of Winner. Our Reporter

The Adamawa Stat Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Alhaji Yunusa Hudu was reported to have been arrested by personnel of the Directorate of the State’s Security Services (DSS) over what was described as illegal declaration of results and violation of electoral procedures in the conduct of elections.
The REC was said to have sneaked into the Collation centre shortly after announcing a break and resumption time of collation of results and final declaration by 11:00 am in the absence of the Media and stakeholders to announce the winner of the rerun gubernatorial election even without collating the results from the returning officers.
The Pioneer reporters reports that the REC went ahead to declare the winner of the election even when results from ten local governments were yet to be collated and presented by Returning Officers at the center.
The declaration of the results had not only thrown the state in a state of confusion but stirred up dissensions even among other INEC officials who disagreed with the action of the REC leading to the eventual apprehension of the REC.
While the state was still grappling with the confusion created by the action of the Resident Commissioner, the guber candidate of the APC, Senator Aishatu Binani was seen in the Media thanking Nigerians particularly the people of the state for voting her to power on the heels of her declaration as the winner of the election by the Adamawa REC.
