Barely one week to the Nation’s General Elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC), the major opposition Party in Adamawa state is still caught up in another web of confusion following the suspension of its Gubernatorial Candidate, Senator Aishatu Ahmad Binani from the party over what the party described as brazen arrogance and impudence on the part of the candidate.
The suspension of the candidate which was carried out by the Yola south Local government arm of the party where the guber candidate hails from was said to have provoked the State Working Committee of the Party to condemn the action and describing it as unconstitutional, null, void and with no effect.
Making known the position of the State Working Committee in a swift reaction to the purported suspension, the State Secretary of the Party, Dr Raymond Chidama said that the action was callous, unguided, divisive, diversionary and unnecessary.
According to him, “this cannot emanate from members of our party. We urge all faithful party members to disregard same”.
