President Mohammad Buhari has said that for the first time, the nation will be making history with the election of a female governor into office in the person of Senator Aisha Dahiru Ahmad Binani by the Adamawa community during the 2023 general election.

Addressing a cream of party members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yola today during the flag-off of the governorship campaign tour of Senator Binani, President Buhari said that the realization of such a dream will depend on the determination of the party supporters and Adamawa community to vote overwhelmingly the aspiring female governor.
He said that Adamawa will be taking the credit for achieving this national feat and called on the Adamawa population to vote for Tinubu, the APC presidential Candidate, and Binani, the gubernatorial candidate for good governance.
The president thanked the Nigerian community for the support and cooperation enjoyed by the party so far and urged all party members occupying positions of authority at all levels to reciprocate such gesture by working hard to provide good governance and called on the governed to cooperate with the government by paying their taxes and educating their wards.

He emphasized that what the common Nigerian needs are security, education, food on the table, and health care adding that Nigerians must develop a culture of electing responsible and credible leaders to change our circumstances.
According to the president, education and health care delivery services will continue to remain the priority of his administration, and warned against electing problematic and corrupt leaders who will only jeopardize the future of our children and the country.
President Buhari said that he was in the state to present Tinubu and Binani to the people of the state as credible and responsible leaders who deserve their votes during the forthcoming election for a better Nigeria.

The presidential candidate, Jagaba Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who spoke in the same vein, appealed to the people of the State to vote for him and Senator Binani to fight insecurity and banish hunger, emphasizing that the nation still has capable women like Binani who can make a difference in governance.

Also speaking at the flag-off, Senator Aisha Dahiru Ahmad Binani promised the Adamawa electorates that when voted into office the usual culture of unpaid gratuity for Retirees, Youth unemployment, insecurity, and unpaid workers’ allowances will be a forgotten antique.
She appealed to the people of the state, particularly Nuhu Ribadu, Abdulrazak Namdas, and the wife of the president to close ranks and work together for the progress of the party to avoid the experience of 2019 where the party was torn apart due to unmitigated crises and dissensions.

She thanked the president for establishing a federal presence in the state through the citing of federal projects in various parts of the state like the teaching hospital and the federal medical center among others in the state.
