The major opposition Party, All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State is enveloped in another new wave of crisis with the rejection of the Senator Aishatu Binani chunned out presidential campaign committee (PCC) list.
The state working committee (SWC) of the party has outrightly rejected the list, accusing Sen. Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani of single handedly producing state presidential campaign council list without recourse to official procedures and disregard to the leadership of the party in the state.
In a statement signed by the acting chairman of the party, Samaila Tadawus and made available to Aljazirah Nigeria, the action of the female senator who is the state coordinator of PCC was in crass violation of party procedures and principles of social justice.
The statement argued that her failure to consult with stakeholders of the party before coming up with the list was dishonoring and abuse of office.
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) Adamawa State chapter surprisingly stumbled on a list of purported state presidential campaign council members in circulation in the social media and some national dailies dated 31st October 2022 as public announcement.
“The said list emanated from Sen. Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani as Adamawa State cordinator who single handedly generated the list without consulting the party at both state and local government level for necessary inputs and final approval.
“On enquiry by the party, it was also confirmed that our members of the national assembly, state assembly, candidates and critical stakeholders were not consulted either.

“It will be recalled that the national presidential campaign council contacted the party at the national level for necessary input and final approval before the campaign secretariat released the list. Therefore, the national campaign secretariat did not confer any right on any state coodinator to bypass the party and act unilaterally.
“In view of the above, the party hereby rejects the list in circulation and urge party members and general public to disregard same.
“The party has noted the various complaints from stakeholders who have been deliberately committed and assure everybody that there will be a meeting of the party exco, local government party chairmen, candidates and stakeholders on Friday 4th November, 2022 at Muna Hotel for proper consultations. A comprehensive list of the state presidential campaign council members will be released thereafter,” the statement said.
Aljazirah Nigeria reports that while the party was yet to recover from its lingering crisis and the threat of possible non participation in the governorship election following the nullification of the primary election that produced senator Aisha Binani as the gubernatorial candidate of the party in the state by the Court recently, the party is still battling with issues that may be injurious to the unity of the party and aspirations for electoral victory.
