It is an acceptable fact that the conflict is said to be inevitable in all spheres of lives and that every existing political party, organisation, or family cannot run away from the conflicts. But the conflicts are always said to be manageable if only, the interest of the group take precedence over any other personal interest. Ganye Local Government been the headquarters of Ganye Chiefdom, is the home town of the former vice president and currently the PDP presidential flag bearer, Ganye is among the Local Government in Adamawa State that the People’s Democratic Party PDP cannot afford to lose its grip of electoral victory come 2023.
But can it be possible for PDP to be rest assured of its victory, taking in cognizance, the current myriad of internal crisis bedevilling the Ganye Local Government Peoples Democratic party PDP, it may certainly go to spelt doom for the party, if the Governor play deaf ear towards it. PDP in Ganye is in shamble and disarray, and the question is that, has Governor Umaru Fintiri notice for once the continues unending beleaguered belligerent atmosphere among the PDP family in Ganye which the State PDP leader is said to be an architect of the movement? Is there any measure taking from the Governor to find a lasting solution to this nightmare, knowing very well that the time is fast approaching?
As the clocks ticks towards the 2023 general elections, politicians together with their political party executives are leaving at nothing in fostering the party unity so as to ensure their electoral victories in their various State and Local governments. It is saddening to note that, instead of the PDP family in Ganye to also engage in keeping their house in order by reactivating political machinery that can lead to their electoral victories, have shown it down and are at daggers drawn due to some whimsy parochial interest of the State party leadership. There is indeed heightened political tension within the PDP family in Ganye as there is no any modicum of guile to deploy in order to address the present hostile atmosphere between the State party leadership and some prominent party members who has been supporting the party to grow from strength to strength. The huge sacrifices that this set of people made which add lustre to the party growth was ignored and taking for granted by the state party leader who is bent in pocketing and turning the party to a one man show. At the looks of things now, the relationship between the duo appears to be no genial pose but a time bomb. The captain of the state PDP who hails from Ganye have been accused of been tyrant in his actions towards some prominent PDP members who he felt they are threat to his political activities in the Local Government. The recent showdown between the State party leadership and the former Executive Chairman of Ganye Local Government, Rev. Habila M. Istifanus which the audio went viral, indicates that the party leader is already nursing grievances or had an axe to always grind anybody that he hates. Apart from the ab initio fiasco scene via the audio that went viral with the former LG Boss, the state party leader was also been accused of his undemocratic attitude which becomes the order of the day. Not too long ago after the PDP councillorship nomination in Ganye Local Government, the pitiable young poor aspirants who bought the nomination forms through their nose, sales most of their valuable assets in order to secure the forms, they indebted themselves and followed all the due process, and were democratically nominated and cleared. But alas, the party leader conceals the eligible cleared nominated councillors’ names and replaced them with his personal choices. The wards that were affected are; Gurum Pawo, Jaggu, Ganye 1, Timdore, Gamu and Bakari Goso wards respectively. That undemocratic imbroglio from the state party leader has called for a serious concern from both the PDP and non-PDP party members in Ganye LGA because among the conceals names was a grandchild to one of the prominent and respected Chamba political emancipator Chief Philip Maken of blessed memory, he sacrifices his life for Chamba people to be politically free. The undemocratic actions of the state party leader have exposed him and has become a testament conforming his alien statuesque among the Chamba race, he has shown his true nature of a total stranger in Ganye as he refuses to consider the prominent political hero of Chamba people. In fact, what baffles many people was that the party leader vow not to sheathe his sword by saying in Hausa language that ‘’ Zai ga malukin da zai cancha sunan da ya chancha, ko Gomna bai isa ba’’ meaning the executive Governor with his power cannot change his decision, what an insult to the Executive Governor of Adamawa State.
The state party leader has really done a hatchet job by destroying the democratically nominated councillors which by way of implication, has plunge the party victory movement in jeopardy come 2023. As somebody that controls the highest echelon political party office in the state and knowing how vital internal democracy is, the state party leader has cast aspersions onto himself and his accomplices by descending so low on one Local Government which brought nothing but a shame and discordance due to his primordial personal interest. The fact is that hitherto the emergence of the present state party leadership who was then serving as the party secretary, PDP in Ganye was faring well despite some of his clandestine moves to outsmart some party prominent members. His emergence as the party chairman of the state and his subsequent underhand activities within the party has brought a serious set back to the party as he was never for once deliver his polling unit in the previous past elections.
The State PDP leader has also been accused of hijacking all the ward registration Files. The Local Government Ward registration Books which supposed to be under the watch of The Local Government party chairman were taking away from the LG party custody. He only works with the Local Government party secretary who is one of his loyalists to achieve his parochial tendencies.
The recent just concluded house of Assembly primaries was also manipulated by the State party leader in order to favour his anointed candidate. He dis-regarded the popular choice by personally introducing his loyalist as three delegates. His action of using his political party office in imposing candidates of his choices, leaving the qualify, quality and acceptable candidates in higgledy-piggledy, has completely plunge the PDP victory in the coming 2023 State house of Assembly in to a hazy dungeon of misfortune. It has not in any form contributed to the positive development of Ganye chiefdom but rather, brought shame and disgrace to the entire chiefdom. With this type of un-patriotic behaviour exhibited by these set of people who wants to toy with the future of Chamba People in the chiefdom, are not even relevant in the chiefdom politics which makes it difficult for them to deliver their polling units.
The FEDERATION OF CHAMBA YOUTH COALITION are hereby calling on His Excellency the Executive Governor of Adamawa State to please look in to these highly inflammable situations that can brought shame not only on PDP but the entire Chamba race in Ganye Local Government. The Governor should know that the present PDP state house of Assembly flag bearer in Ganye has not in any form represent the interest of the entire PDP members talk less of the Chamba people. We want the Governor himself to seriously investigate the issue of this PDP State house of Assembly nomination saga in Ganye, this is the highest level of ridicule to the Chamba race not PDP. What on earth are we talking about, has the PDP in Ganye lacks the prominent quality intellectuals that can represent the party in a sensitive office of this calibre? Where are the likes of Barrister Lilian, Rev. Habila M. Istifanus, Farouk Mohammed (Bulldozer) and other prominent graduates that equally contested for the same seat? PDP state party leader has indeed brought shame to the world of learned people by making this great mistake of favouring a school drop-out and un-popular candidate over the popular acceptable aspirants. The party leader has not shown any whiff of sagacity in handling the State house of assembly primaries in Ganye, it was nothing but a selfish groping of a candidate for personal gain. The state party leader is after his personal ego, bringing in a puppet to achieve his selfish desires.
At this end, in order to douse from the impending doom that these primordial selfish actions of the State party chairman may cause to PDP come 2023 in Ganye, the Governor should thoroughly investigate the aforementioned disturbing issues spelt out and try to address it for the better future of PDP in Ganye and Adamawa State as a whole.
