Peoples Democratic Party PDP becomes a rallying point of blossoming trans-ideological movement to many great politicians from different political parties, willing to offer leadership to Nigeria after the General Abdulsalami Abubakar regime which brought to the fore the unmistakable resolve of Nigerians for an immediate return to civil democratic rule. On August 19, 1998, several political associations across the country tried to maintain and sustain the momentum of democratic struggle, the G-34 attracted several political associations that shared the vision of a truly formidable national political platform. In trying to make history and become the largest political party, the Peoples Democratic Party was launched at a colourful ceremony at the international conference Centre Abuja on August 31, 1998.
PDP has indeed immediately after it launching at the national level which the party had Dr. Alex Ekwueme as chairman of the steering committee while professor Jerry Gana was the secretary, the party gain rapid popularity and become a whirl wind that swept and silence other political parties across the States and the Local Governments in the country and become the head of many households.
In Ganye Local Government of Adamawa State, PDP was not left behind, the party has equally become the dominant political party, the party has indeed become the trail blazing octopus with the thousands of followers recorded due to the good leadership provided by its party chairmen whose due to frustration meted upon them from the party leadership at the state level, scuttle the expected duration of their tenures which always come and gone like a flash of lightening, leaving behind tears and sorrow in the lives of their people.
Despite the sacrifices made by these great men to take PDP to a greater height, is always frustrated by some few so-called indigenes who controls the party at the State level. It is saddening that the pariah indigenes who were allowed to live among the loving peaceful Chamba People has turn to be enemies, wanting to stop any positive progress from a Chamba man. Right from the inception of PDP in Ganye Local Government and the subsequent emergence of its LG party chairmen, the alien so-called indigenes of Ganye who controls the party affairs at the State level continue to make things difficult for any chairman that emerged. In fact, it was so-much glaring that, the PDP chairmen in Ganye LG, Starting from the first party chairman, Jidere Daksam to the present party chairman, Alh. Usman Sanda (BAJAU) has suffered bashing on no plausible ground. It is indeed pitiable to note that, each passing day, the light of hope dimmed in the lives of these great men as nobody is there at the State level to defend their cause. The height of despair was achieved when some of the chairmen due to the frustration meted upon them, died and some were mentally affected before their demise. The first chairman of the party in person of Jidere Daksam died before the expiration of his tenure likewise Hon. Abubakar Negatem and Alh. Kwali, Bristone Wariyaki have suffered the same fate of frustration as he left the office without the expiration of his tenure. Westly Nyamwaganyi was mentally deranged for several years before he passes away. At present, Usman Sanda (BAJAU) is facing the same frustration especially from the PDP leadership of the State who felt he can twist things anyhow in the party. Usman Sanda has been denied of his rightful recognition as a party chairman at the state and Local Government level because of his fearless nature of standing by the truth in many occasions. Despite the fact that all these chairmen have never for once show any inkling of disloyalty to the leadership of the State, no one had the slightest premonition that the so-called Ganye indigenes who controls the party at the State level nursed grievances or had an axe to always grind them with, and that expose their evil intention towards Chamba race. At this end, we want to draw the attention of the PDP State party leadership especially those who claim to be Ganye indigene but had no any good intention towards the Chamba race to know that, since they engage themselves in the travesty of making the lives of our people miserable won’t diminish Chamba Olympian dominancy or scuttle their political dominancy in Ganye chiefdom. The rot has indeed gone on for too long, the entire Chamba people in Ganye especially through the FEDERATION OF CHAMBA YOUTH COALITION are worried, they are seriously disturbed with the barbaric evince of the State PDP leadership towards Ganye Local Government party chairmen since the emergence of PDP in 1999. The FEDERATION OF CHAMBA YOUTH COALITION through their publicity secretary Abubakar Nyagang issued a statement that, wittingly or un-wittingly, an injury to one is injury to all. He maintains that from now henceforth, Chamba people will rise to the occasion and use every possible means or medium to make sure that they protect and defend the interest of any Chamba man whose right has been trampled upon or deprived by the likes of PDP State party leadership.
