THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has been warned by the group called FEDERATION OF CHAMBA YOUTH COALITION not to take the country to the inglorious days when impunity reigned supreme by excluding the names of validly elected candidates in the just concluded political parties’ primaries due to parochial personal interest of some high-profile influential politicians.

INEC has also been advised to ensure that its actions are guided by the Electoral Act to avoid external manipulations by anti-democratic elements.
The warning came on the heels of the controversy surrounding the defection of the Adamawa State house of assembly majority leader Hon. Hammantukur Yettisuri who defected from the ruling party in the State PDP to New Nigeria Peoples Party NNPP. It is saddening to note that some Abuja politicians who are not closer to the grassroots poor electorates but comes home once in a while and play money-bag politics have vowed to bribe Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to exclude Hon. Hammantukur Yettisuri name from the approve list of INEC valid candidates from various political parties that can represent their parties in the coming 2023 General elections. These high-profile politicians whose selfish interest have become so glairing have no any plausible reason to justify their hatred towards Yettisuri. They only insinuate that it is not in order for somebody of his calibre, coming from the same place with the former Vice-President Alh. Atiku Abubakar (WAZIRIN ADAMAWA) to defect from PDP to NNPP. Are we not in the era of democracy where everybody is allowed to exercise his or her choice of political party and a choice of candidates? Can we allow ourselves to continue to be in a perpetual servitude in our own God given father land? INEC should be warned not to succumb to the political intrigues cum horse-trading of this oligarchies for the sake of national peace.
The FEDERATION OF CHAMBA YOUTH COALITION has also bemoaned and condemned the unpatriotic act of the so-called Ganye chiefdom Abuja politicians who always wants to selfishly control political activities in the chiefdom.
By and large, “We are calling on the good leadership of INEC to discharge its duties of transparency by rejecting any attempt from any individual or group who are already bent on stopping the candidacy of Hon. Hammantukur Yettisuri come 2023 General Elections.
