How Gov. Fintiri is Playing Politics with Pensioners Over Gratuity Payment in Adamawa State.

The Executive Governor of Adamawa State Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri had earlier this year approved the sum of 1.3 billion nairas for the payment of gratuity for the period of January to December 2013 in Adamawa state, the pensioners who had retired from service after 35 years of devotion to the state in various Ministries Agencies and Parastatals of the state and have spent 10 years without a gratuity, many have died, many are sick lying down at there houses and hospitals bed, some rarely afford money for drugs.
Gov. Fintiri had raised the hopes of these poor pensioners only for him to keep mute over their payments of gratuity. The hope of others who retired from 2014 to date despairs because their seniors who retired in 2013 are yet to receive payments. The joy of every retiree is to take home his benefits before his death, but this hope is no longer feasible, thereby sending them to their early grave. The big question that every pensioner is asking is why would the Governor say to have approved 1.3 billion nairas on media when he knows that he cannot make payments at that time? We are now in the fourth month of His Excellency’s approval of 1.3 billion naira payments for the 2013 gratuity, and still no sign of anything, we are really tired, the Governor should please pay us our entitlements, some pensioners lamented.
A supposed beneficiary of the 2013 gratuity pensioner equally lamented over poor payments and unfulfillment of promise made by the governor, he further exclaimed that the governor is trying in other aspects of the state, but he is appealing to him to consider their plight and listen to their cries by fulfilling the promise he made for the payments of gratuity for the year 2013, as it will give hope for the rest of the pensioners in the entire state.
