The adoption of indirect primaries by political parties that involved the delegate system have seen many quality- selfless aspirants been denied of their party tickets. This is true because the recent just concluded primaries of different political parties across the state and the country as a whole which was conducted via delegate system, has left some painful indelible mark in the lives of many politicians and communities. The corrupt attitude exhibited by the delegates has truly deprive the selfless quality candidate that can ensure greater happiness to the greater majority from scaling through, and that has indeed thrown the future of our society in a gale of dilemma.
It is sad to note that, Ganye chiefdom which is dominantly dominated by the Chamba tribe (Sama), the chiefdom which become fame and successful in the Nigerian politics back 1960s due to the selfless political game played by its elites of blessed memory has also fallen prey to the menace of indirect primaries. Our past political leaders in the Chiefdom in the likes of Gang Philip Maken and his contemporaries have selflessly, without religious or tribal differences devoted their time and energies to serve their compatriots. In the course of their brief tenures, they left behind indelible legacies that forever will remain evergreen. It is indeed worrisome to observe that the developmental politics of non-religion, non-tribalism and selfless service rendered by these great leaders in Ganye chiefdom in the past have been replaced by the politics of religion discrimination, marginalization, greed and covetousness.
The recent just concluded indirect primaries from the two popular political parties, APC and PDP by the delegates has puts Ganye chiefdom in a total mess.
delegates system had been abused by money-bag politicians who had been in the corridors of power for several years. Although, our case in Ganye chiefdom is not only the issue of buying delegates but the miscreant behaviours of some alien so-called Ganye indigenes who some of them controls major political parties. Their action of using their political party offices in imposing candidates of their choices, leaving the qualify, quality and acceptable candidates in higgledy-piggledy, has not in any form contributed to the positive development of Ganye chiefdom but rather, brought shame and disgrace to the entire chiefdom. With this type of un-patriotic behaviour exhibited by these set of people who wants to toy with the future of Chamba People in the chiefdom, are not even relevant in the chiefdom politics which makes it difficult for them to deliver their polling units. it is high time for all the patriotic sons and daughters of Ganye chiefdom to rise to the occasion and vehemently kick against their parochial devilish moves.
We must urgently demonstrate a strong will to an inclusive and revitalized agreement on the resolution of the continuous imposition and illegal appointment by these irrelevant oligarchies in Ganye chiefdom in order to end the era of these few evil genius that wants thwart our development. We must look for an alternative to checkmate the excesses of these un-patriotic oligarchist via forming our own impregnable political party together with qualify candidates that can deliver in the green chamber, State house of Assembly and in our local government councils without been control by an alien.
By and large, there is every need for the Chamba people to come together and form a formidable tat-force in order to stop the activities of the so-called alien king-makers in the chiefdom.
