Taraba;State Plagued By Terrorism, Genocide, Ethnic Supremacy :>Twin Bomb Blasts Claim 6 Lives, 16 Others wounded>Over 30 Killed by Fulani Bandits During Sustained Attacks. By Stanley Mijah, Jalingo

No fewer than forty persons have been reported killed and several others wounded during a twin Bomb blast in Iware and Nukkai including attacks of over five Kuteb Communities in Ussa Local Government of Taraba state by Fulani Bandits.
In what looks like a coordinated attack the Kwenten communities woke up to the reality of an early surprised attack by Fulani Bandits in the early hours of Thursday after the villagers have noticed the suspicious presence of an Helicopter hovering over the villages the preceding afternoon.
While the war between the Bandits and the villagers was persisting, a Bomb blast at Iware which killed 6 and wounded seventeen others on a Market day near the Cattle Market attracted the attention of inhabitants. Barely few days after the Iware blast, the Nukkai Residents within Jalingo Metropolis were seen scampering for safety after another Bomb blast of Friday evening, leaving most Residents worried over the spate of horrifying events all taking place within a span of less than two weeks..
An eye witness told the scope that on that fateful morning the Bandits came knocking on the doors of the unsuspecting communities at about 4:00am and most Residents who came out unknowingly were attacked and killed, emphasizing that over thirty people were killed while others are still missing since the war broke out.
According to the Eye witness Account, since the Bandits struck on Thursday morning, more than seven villages have been attacked by the Bandits. “They attacked one of the villages even yesterday, Thursday. Today is the eighth day since the attacks started and we have not seen any appreciable security interventions since the attacks started over a week ago. The confession of one of the captured Bandits was startling and quite disturbing… The Fulani Man captured revealed that they have been paid to do the job by men of affluent from one of the major tribes in the state. It is now certain that the attack on our people is a planned genocide against our people,” he narrated.
Our correspondent reported that some of the victims of the Iware Bomb blast were immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Centre and other Health Clinics in Jalingo for medical attention and have since been discharged while the Nukkai Bomb blast recorded few individuals with minor injuries sustained during the bomb scare with no number of deaths,
Taraba state has been under intense attack and kidnappings by Bandits, Boko Haram and ISWAP Terrorists lately since the Federal Government commenced a major clampdown on Terrorists in Zamfara, Nassarawa and other parts of the country forcing many to relocate to Taraba State as a safe Haven.
Investigations by our correspondent revealed that despite the pragmatic approach of the Architect Darius administration to dismantle the plots by Boko Haram and ISWAP to establish Terrorists Camps in three local governments of the state, some local traditional leaders alleged to have jettisoned the efforts of the government by settling these Bandits in their territories after receiving gratifications of between N1.5 and N2million naira, a development that precipitated the governor’s pronouncement recently that any community leader caught settling Bandits will be doing so at his own peril.
Apart from the invasion of the territories of Taraba the state has been plagued by internal and ethnic hatred and supremacy and planned genocide against some few communities, a development that has place even the ethnic nationalities more at risk than other non indigenous tribes.
The failure of the state to manage its diversity and unity may have been responsible for the infiltration of the ranks of the Ethnic Nationalities by outsiders to create conflict and destroy the walls of unity of the state which hitherto had banded the people together.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Taraba State Police Command, DSP Usman Abdullahi whose comment was sought on the matter confirmed the Bomb blast and the attack on communities in Ussa but denied knowledge of the persisting nature of the attack, saying that normalcy has returned to the Area.
He could not give our correspondent any tentative figure of the number of casualties or any arrest by security operatives.
