Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has reversed the existing ban on the traditional observance of the Sallah and Christmas Homages on the governor and members of the state executive Council by individuals, groups, religious and traditional bodies associated with such religious festivities in the state.
A statement issued and signed by the Chief of Staff to the governor, Prof Maxwell M. Gidado indicated that the reversal of the ban became imperative due to the subtle disappearance of religious traditional practices and perceived diminishing impact, ease and favourable reports on the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic worldwide.
According to the statement, the governor has therefore approved the commencement of Sallah and Christmas Homages and celebrations henceforth in the state particularly the Eid-el-kabir and Christmas celebrations.
On the strength of this statement, the state is resuming the normal traditional practices of Sallah and Christmas Homages and celebrations in the state.
The governor further wished all Muslims a happy and peaceful Eid-el-Fitri celebration.
