The leadership of the Pene Da Bwatiye, a Socio- Cultural Organisation of the Bwatiye race worldwide rose from an extra ordinary meeting with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri with a please to stem the tide of the perpetual conflicts between Herdsmen and local Farmers resulting to the loss of lives and property within the Bwatiye territory in the state.
The Bwatiye apex body is also demanding compensation to Bwatiye families who have been victims of Fulani Herdsmen hostilities and violence arising from the attacks and invasion of communities under the guise of Herdsmen and Farmers conflicts.
The leadership of the Bwatiye community who is worried by the continued hostilities of Herdsmen and the attendant loss of lives arising from deliberate invasion of farmlands by Fulani Herdsmen and suspected Bandits was granted audience by
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to voice out the crippling security challenges confronting the community.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the closed door meeting with the Governor, President of the Pene Da Bwatiye, Prof. Dan Babayi disclosed that the meeting centered on discussions to further consolidate on the relative peace being experienced currently in the state.

He intimated that recommendations on how to curtail further conflicts between farmers and herders which had claimed many lives in the past had been discussed and hoped that measures discussed at the meeting would yeild positive results. He said that the recurring conflicts and hostilities is becoming a matter of serious concern to the Bwatiye community.
He explained that since most of such cases happen during the rainy and harvest seasons the community found it expedient and necessary to consider the early Advocacy option to avert devastating consequences.
Prof. Babayi also told the press that the government had pledged to look into the lingering issue of compensation of Bwatiye communities that lost their fortunes during such crisis.
The President also disclosed that part of the visit was intended to congratulate the governor on his successful conduct of local government elections in the state and to commend him for his efforts at delivering people’s oriented projects within less than three years in office
Prof Dan Babayi said the approach to the matter was a clear expression of the existing mutual love between Governor Fintiri and the Bwatiye people, emphasizing that the friendly disposition of the governor towards the Bwatiye community is what they seek to uphold.
