APC Heads To Court As PDP Claims Victory In Adamawa Council Election By Barnabas Manyam

YOLA – The All Progressive Congress Party (APC) has headed to court to challenge the conduct of council elec­tion in Adamawa State, which the party described as sham.

Meanwhile the Peoples Democratic Party PDP has been jubilating as it swept Adamawa council election.PDP won all the chairman­ship positions in the Adama­wa State local government election.PDP said chairmanship positions in the state local gov­ernment election has shown that only PDP exists in the state.While reacting, APC spokesperson, Abdulahi Mohammed, said the party was dismayed by the lack of fairness and undemocratic underhands displays during the election and that the party considered the pro­cess a sham and would seek redress to right the wrongs.The Executive Chair­man of the Adamawa State Electoral Commission (AD­SIEC), Isa Shettima, who announced the results of the elections in his office on Sunday, said the election was conducted in a peaceful atmosphere.He said only two political parties, the APC and PDP, fielded candidates for the election.
