Ahead of the highly anticipated 2023 Presidential election, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, set up a 37-man committee to come up with a recommendation in regard to zoning ahead of the elections.
The committee met and instead of zoning, they decided to leave the race open to give the chance to everyone who’s willing to contest.
Well, the decision of the opposition party, has generated mixed reactions from different groups who have been campaigning for zoning. The Ohanaeze Ndigbo, is one of those groups who have expressed their disappointment with the decision of the opposition party. In a statement released by The Igbo socio-cultural group, they urged presidential aspirants from the South-East region, not to give up on the struggle until the needed result is achieved.
