BRANDFORD BELLO FOOTBALL COMPETITION FINALS; HON. BENJAMIN CHARGE YOUTHS TO BE AMBASSADORS OF PEACE

It was indeed historic to note that, the Brandford Bello Football competition cup finals which took place at Gurum Nongvan of Timdore District in Ganye Local Government, brought people from different walks of live to cheer the two football clubs that reach the final stage of the competition.

Different football clubs across the ten wards in Ganye LGA slugged it out in the competition, which started some months back in what is a clear sign of living together as one. 27th of March. 2022, being the final day of the competition was graced by the District Head of Timdore, Dashen, Gurum Panwa, Mal. Hussaini Sugu, the campaign DG and other dignitaries.

The action-packed finals were goalless between Gurum Nongvan and Gidan- Kowa which call for the penalty shootout. Gurum Nongvan Football club beat Gidan-Kowa Football 4-2 to win the cup.

Hon. Benjamin Brandford the aspirant for Adamawa State House of Assembly under the canopy of All Progressive Congress APC, and who also sponsored the competition in honour of his late Father of blessed memory, charged youths to be ambassadors of peace and to be their brothers’ keepers in respective of political party, Religion and tribal affiliations.

He also stressed that the competition was organized in order to enhance the spirit of mutual understanding, trust, and cooperation among the teeming youths cum the electorates in Ganye constituency. Hon. Benjamin in his short speech, thanked all that help in one way or the other in making the competition the successful one, he also appreciates the security personnel’s, referees, players and spectators for their contribution to the peaceful accomplishment of the competition.
