There are indications that the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, may claim some States from the Ruling Party, All Progressives Congress APC in the forthcoming Governorship Elections, due to the crisis rocking the Party in some of the APC controlled States.It should be recalled that APC, has been facing Leadership challenges in some states and the Leaders of the Party, have not been able to find lasting solution to the crisis.
The recent Congress of APC, conducted across the States, had shown that the Party, may not find it easy to win future elections in some states.
However, Some of the States that PDP may Claim from APC, shall be discussed in this article. One of the APC controlled states, that PDP may claim from APC, is Imo state.The Peoples Democratic Party PDP may claim Imo state from APC in the forthcoming Governorship Election because of the crisis between the former Governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha and the Governor of the state, Governor Hope Uzodinma.It was gathered that the crisis between them was as a result of the Power tussle between the two Leaders. However, the Leaders of the Party, have not find lasting solution to the crisis between the two Leaders.The marmot crowd that witnessed, the rally if the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in the state, shows that PDP may reclaim the state, from APC.The National Chairman of the Party, Iyorchia Ayu and some Prominent Members of the Party, like the Governor of Rivers State, Governor Nyesom Wike attended the mega rally.
Meanwhile, the former Governor of the state, Emeka Ihedioha and the state chairman of the PDP, Charles Ugwu welcomed the PDP Leaders into the state for the Mega rally.
This is an indication that PDP is still Popular in the state. It should be recalled that Emeka Ihedioha won the Governorship Election in 2019 under the Platform of the PDP, before the court nullified his election, and announced Governor Hope Uzodinma, as the real winner of the election.
Another APC controlled State that PDP may claim from APC, is Zamfara State. The PDP may also claim Zamfara State due to the crisis Rocking the APC in the state.
The Governor of the state, Governor Bello Matawalle is facing some challenges from the Former Governor of the State, Abdul’aziz Yari and Senator Kabiru Marafa.
It was gathered that the two Leaders, Yari and Senator Kabiru Marafa, do not accept the Governor, as the overall Leader of the PO Party in the State.
Meanwhile, the just concluded State Congress, conducted in the state, does not favoured Abdul’aziz Yari and Senator Kabiru Marafa. This means they may work for the success of APC in future elections.Though, the Deputy Governor of the state, Madhi Gusau was recently removed as the Deputy Governor of the state, but that doesn’t disturb the PDP from winning the forthcoming Governorship Election in the state.The reason is that PDP is Popular in the State. It should be recalled that PDP won the last Governorship election, in the state before the Governor dumped the Party for APC. As a result of this, PDP may reclaim the state from APC in the forthcoming Governorship Election in the state.
