An emerging report has it that Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso has joined forces with some politicians to float a third force in the political environment of the country known as The New Movement (TNM). This third force for Kwankwaso would be a formidable political movement that will wrestle power from the hands of APC and PDP by 2023. Some prominent members of this third force include Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi of Kaduna State; former Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung; popular Northern critic, Buba Galadima.
While speaking about The New Movement during a political program on a local radio, Nasara FM, in Kano, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso claimed that the All Progressives Congress and the People Democratic Party have nothing new to offer Nigerians.
However, going through the whole report and claim of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso that APC and PDP have nothing new to offer Nigeria, I think that there is something the former governor of Kano State failed to realize.
Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso while making the above claim that PDP and APC have nothing new to offer failed to realize that most members of this third force (The New Movement) were once members of PDP and APC. A typical example was when APC was formed in 2013, despite creating the awareness of a fresh political party, it was made up of politicians who decamped from PDP and other political parties.Hence, the 2023 election should go beyond political parties but it should be about credible politicians that can change the economic situation of the country. It is not by forming a new political party but by presenting political aspirants that are ready to change the economic situation of the country. As such, if PDP or APC presents credible and trusted candidates for the 2023 election, then they could stand a chance at winning the votes of the electorates.
