Since Asiwaju Bola Tinubu made his intensions to contest in the forthcoming 2023 Presidential race, the apprehension that has already been in place between his supporters and those of the reigning Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has been on the increase. And it has been feared by some political pundits and on-lookers that the perceived tussle between the two public figures has the tendency to plague the success of their platform which is the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC)
However, in the middle of the above growing apprehension among the teeming supporters of APC, a recent report by Daily Post has it that the number two citizen of the country has denied that he actually has the desire to partake in the swift political race.
Meanwhile, the national convention of the party is due to hold on the 26th of February. And the primary election in which its final flag bearer for the much anticipated election is also expected to take place in the same day.Assuming that prior to the date of the fast approaching convention, Professor Osinbajo eventually makes it known to Nigerians that he will be a part of the race, the tempo will calm among his supporters. Consequently the odds will become even between the duo of him and Asiwaju Tinubu. As it is known, therefore, in every contest, no matter how tight it might be, a winner always emerges. And since as it stands so far, the two political icons are the most talked-about as far as the ruling party is concerned, if the state of affairs continues so, it is thus only normal that the vanquished will join force with the victor in due course. In addition to lending his support to the would-be candidate for the last lap of the campaign for the successor of the sitting President Muhammadu Buhari, whoever loses at the primaries is also expected to sway his supporters to throw their weight behind the winner. One major advantage that the latter will enjoy in view of this lies in the large number of supporters that each of them has in his camp. The foregoing indication attests to why if Asiwaju Tinubu and Prof. Osinbajo eventually face each other at the forthcoming APC primaries, it will be a plus to whoever will emerge victorious between them. And such one will be up for beat among his opponents from the other parties.
