The beauty of democracy is the inherent nature of it’s flexibility, dynamism and complexity. This accommodate what others may think are irregularities and abnormal in the democratization processes. That is why, what is politically moral, is religiously immoral and vice versa. Politics in itself is a means to a particular end. That is why at the cause of pursuance of that ends, there is no permanent friend or enemy, but there is always a permanent interest.for that permanent interest to be achieved, there are many intricacies that are bound to manifest, this include; political party defections, political rivalry, propaganda campaign, opposition/opponent criticism and many other variables or elements of power tussle. This are what constitutes the complexity and dynamism of politics in a democratic settings.
Since the inception of H.E Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s led administration in 2019 under the platform of People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Governor Fintiri assured the people of Adamawa State of inclusive governance, that is to say other political parties will partake in his administration in other to move the state forward, and if one can critically analyse, you can figure out some prominent personalities from the previous dispensation and other political parties that have defected to the PDP in the State, and politically they are right and have become bonafide members of the party and can enjoy all entitlements of membership.
To the best of my knowledge, Hon. Bar. Lilian Stephen Nabe the Miwoba I of Ganye is the only greatest female politician that Ganye Chiefdom ever produced. Aside of her traditional title of MIWOBA I, (Most Humble Daughter) which makes her a member of Ganye Traditional Council among thousands of women in the Chiefdom, Bar. Lilian is the first female Honourable Commissioner in the Chiefdom, having served for two different tenures under different political parties as Commissioner for Health and Commissioner for Works and Housing respectively, this shows that she is a great woman of timber and caliber who is a veteran in politics of the Chiefdom and that of the State in general.
For the records, Hon. Bar. Lilian Stephen Nabe was fully called to the Bar as a Solicitor and an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. She attended national and international conferences, this include; 33rd Regional Convention of the International Federation of Women Lawyers in Milano, Italy in 2008. She equally attended the 22nd Session of Convention on the Status of Women (CSW), at New York City, USA in 2013. Noble Bar. Lilian was again at the 2nd International Conference on African Women Development in Paris, France in 2013, and Applying Knowledge Management, at Oxford University, London also in 2013. Bar. Lilian Stephen Nabe attended four Health Exhibitions in Berlin and Munich, Germany and South Africa and Dubai, United Arab Emirates between the year 2013 and 2014.
Hon. Bar. Lilian, being a wife to a former Commissioner of Police, had served as the Chairperson of Police Officers Wifes Association in Bauchi and some other States across the country. She is currently a member of the Nigeria Bar Association ( NBA), International Federation of Women Lawyers of which she is a life member and the Institute of Government Research and Leadership Technology where she is a Fellow. Having served humanity in various capacity, Bar. Lilian has been recognized and given different awards, this among others include; Most Innovative Female Commissioner for the Year 2013, Best Commissioner for the Decade 2013, Sustainability Award by Fhi 360 in 2013 and an Award of Excellence by the National Association of Nigerian Students in 2014.
Let this be clear to those seeking for political relevancy in the Chiefdom that Bar. Lilian is not just an ordinary member of the PDP, she is not just a local government stakeholder, but a state stakeholder and a former Hon. Commissioner. An ordinary political amateur and a novice should therefore be warn against challenging the membership of the Hon. Barrister. Instead of staging a fight beyond your power, I will advice that you humble yourself to learn what politics is all about from our amiable Bar. Who has verse experience and knowledge of governance and the politics of the Chiefdom and that of the State at large. And if you think fighting a two term Hon. Commissioner, a present Board Member, Adamawa State Fiscal Responsibility Commission, and a “fully called to Bar” Lawyer, a Solicitor and an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria will make you relevant politically, i think you are making a great mistake that can instead bury your political career as a fresher that you are, at your political kindergarten stage. I will advice that you at least grow politically before engaging in such a fight, because even at the law profession you cannot even compare yourself to the Miwoba, you very well know what I mean. Be calm and avoid politics of envy and bitterness. You should know that PDP in Ganye, Adamawa and Nigeria at large is not a landed property, where somebody’s father is in the possession of the Certificate of Occupancy.
