Abduction have become more indiscriminate across northern Nigeria as local criminal gangs view victims as a source of income, and the masses who have been ignored by the government as disposable. The people of Ganye Local Government are in a great fear nowadays due to the recent spate of abduction which happen frequently with kidnappers demanding a huge amount as a ransom. It will be re-called that the Local Government suffers the scourge of the kidnapping activities some months back which the synergy between the security operatives cum the local hunter’s efforts couple with the prayers from different Mosque and the Churches have brought to a stop for some period of time the kidnapping activities which many believes the perpetrators connive with some bonafied youths of the LGA in order to carry out their deadly activities. The recent abduction in GAMU, WAZIRI ABBO (OLD MARKET), DAWASA and GANGKOEN in Ganye LGA has call for a serious concern, particularly the need for government of the day to take some serious majors that can halt the situation. Briefing Pioneer about the war against the criminal/hoodlums who are the brain behind the incessant abduction of innocent people in the Local Government, our correspondent said that the Divisional Police officer of Ganye Local Government, SP Mohammed Y. Nuhu as the head of the police in Ganye is really doing his duty as police to ensure the safety of lives and properties of the people. He said that with the recent security breach which led to the abductions, the police with other security men are working tirelessly by declaring war on the suspects. SP Mohammed Y. Nuhu as the head of police in Ganye who together with the other security operatives are charged with the responsibility of protecting the lives and properties of the people have taken some security majors immediately after the series of abductions. He summoned the seven District head and other local village head who the abductors were suspected to be hiding in some remote places of their areas to be vigilant, conscious of early warning, and they should immediately report to the security operatives any stranger seen in their areas.
Ganye Divisional Police officer was optimistic that despite the multifaceted challenges facing the Local Government, Ganye will overcome them with an unwavering faith in God and renewed commitment to patriotic cause.
“With renewed commitment and patriotic by all the people of Ganye, I am confident that will emerge from these trying times a stronger, more prosperous and will continue to experience a lasting peace,” he said.
