Where you love or despise his politics or administration, you will recognize his footprints on the sand of development in the State. Adamawa State under Governor Fintiri today is indeed in a hand of a caring baby sitter because the State is witnessing an unprecedented progress in the history of the State. His administration so far has washed off the age-long stigma of backwardness associated with the State. Adamawa state people are indeed proud of their selfless Governor. Fintiri is indeed a God sent because taking a look at his administration during his hey days as an Acting Governor of the State, was the time that was marked by the new beginning for the people of the State. The ascension of Governor Fintiri on the Leadership throne in Adamawa during his time as the speaker of the house, Acting Governor and now an elected Governor implies the restoration of hope for the downtrodden in the State.
As a promising and dynamic young leader with distinctive qualities, he never left any one in doubt of his capabilities of transforming the State into an enviable status. Considering the poverty and impoverish level of people of the State, Madagali born Governor out of his wisdom embarked on a journey which started during his days as an Acting Governor. Fintiri redefine democracy by giving his administration a welfarist posture with unlimited development prospect through some strategic policy measures. He was able to realize this by ensuring that all accumulated benefits and entitlements of workers and retirees are paid while the decay infrastructure which characterize the past governments are given unprecedented attention to give the State a fitting status. This informed the award of the contract to ensure the flyover in the State capital which will ease the traffic congestion, construction and rehabilitation of road network within and outside the State capital. As a leader whose idea of leadership is about quality service and social justice, had to always ensure he settle all constituency allowance to the legislatures. As an ardent supporter of education as a life time self-actualization, the Government of Governor Fintiri is indeed living true to his campaign promises, this is why he declared free education in all public primary and Secondary schools in the State, so that more parents could put their children in schools. Governor Fintiri has, also on the 27th January 2020 commence the scholarship payment of over 20,000 Adamawa students schooling in all tertiary institutions across the country. The Governor has indeed restored back the lost hope of the Adamawa State student in a tertiary institution who has been forgotten for seven years without payment of scholarship by various administration in the State. Governor Fintiri encouragement and support for the growth of education has not only stop at the home front scholarship in the State but was extended to the oversees. The Governor has earlier this year offered scholarship to 60 Adamawa State indigenes to study various Engineering courses in India. The Governor who never left any one in doubt of his capabilities of transforming Adamawa State, has stick to his word of assuring the security of lives and properties of the people across the State as he stated during his inaugural day. In his statement for security in the State, the Governor aver that: “on his watch, security of lives and prosperity shall be the primary responsibility of Government, while the right of citizens, justice, equity, merit, competence and diligence shall prevail. The Governor is indeed up and doing in terms of security since the people of the State can now sleep with their two eyes close unlike before. The security situation in Adamawa State before the emergence of His Excellency Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri was in a sorry state. Apart from the activities of the local cult group in the State (Shilla) which was before terrorizing the people in the State, gangs of notorious kidnappers brought their heinous acts of abduction and killings of innocent citizens to several parts of the State. This has been in a stop by the Governors proactive security strategy and multi- sectorial approach to protect the lives of his people. The Fintiri administration which work in inclusion of community leaders and the establishment of “OPERATION FARAUTA” helped greatly in quelling the menace of criminals in Adamawa State. With the rear starling qualities exhibited by the Fresh Air Governor, Adamawa State people are lucky to have such a selfless workaholic Governor who is always ready to sacrifice for the development and welfare of his people in the State.
By and large, the rear attributes the Governor exhibited towards the leadership of the State has not only put him far ahead of his precursors but further endeared him to the hearts of the lowly ones in the State. It is a known fact if you are opportune to pass through Governor Fintiri’s political school, you will be armed with these qualities: selflessness, political maturity, doggedness, generosity and loyalty. The truth must be told that Fintiri is not just a leader because he enjoys a cult- like political followership, but also for maintaining merit in his administrative affairs of the State. Governor Fintiri as a dogged fighter for democracy, has demonstrated his true love for the Adamawa People since his hey days as an acting Governor of the State.
