HOW PDP WARD CONGRESS HELD IN GANYE WITHOUT HITCH

Contrary to the expectations of keen political watchers of Ganye Local Government politics following the whiff of internal crisis rocking the ruling party, the ward congress held on the 25th September 2021, across the ten wards of the Local Government area was without any hitch or parallel congress.
Expectedly, there was a huge turn out of party members who came out to participate in the exercise while various security officers were strategically positioned at the congress venue. The representatives of the State PDP who serve as the returning officers of the party and INEC officials witnessed the exercise. in order to stave off crisis and to please every member of the party, the leadership of the party after a marathon meeting with a cross section of the members at the congress venue, had pushed for a consensus option for the ward leaders to emerge. Speaking with our correspondent in a brief interview session, the state returning officer Hon. Piyano Bauna, a member representing Lamurde said that the congress which ended peacefully via consensus was indeed a giant step to electoral victory come 2023 general election, further added that, since the constitution of PDP provides two options on electing leaders of the party at all levels including election and consensus, he was happy that the members opted for the consensus with a view to fostering unity among contestants and the entire PDP family in Ganye Local Government area.
In the same vein, the Executive Chairman of Ganye Local Government Rev. Habila M. Istifanus has, with all alacrity expressed his appreciation to the state PDP leadership for their support to see the success of the congress. He thanked all the party stakeholders and members for making the congress a peaceful one. He congratulates the new ward executives for their electoral victory via consensus into their various offices, tasking them to ensure that the work to make PDP the party to beat in 2023. Also, PDP Local Government party chairman Alh. Usman Sanda (BAJAU) after the congress reaffirmed that the strength of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) remained in consensus-building and peaceful resolution of issues and called for sustenance of virtues. He urged the party members not to be distracted by the antics of the opposition in the State. He commends all the party members over peaceful conduct during the congress, he later called for the party unity among all the members.
The party stakeholders in attendance were, former commissioner Land and survey, Hon. Piyanu Bauna, Hon Ali Kalkal, Rev. Habila M. Istifanus, Alh. Usman Sanda (BAJAU) Alh. Barkindo Vinsumi, Hon. Farouck Mohammed (Buldoza) Hon. Umar Lawan, Hon. BB Wariyaki, Hon. Andy Gombe, Barr Lilian (MIWOBA), Hon. Jafaru, Hon. Laban Gindau and other party members.
